Year ONE of the Communications Academy is coming to an end. Over the course of the school year, the class of 2020 explored the role of print journalism, studied past and present trends in radio broadcasting, produced video segments for Eagle News, and participated in film opportunities including the Egg Harbor Township High School District Film Festival and the 10 Day Film Challenge.
Throughout the school year, the students were introduced to various types of media and developed original projects using professional software programs including Adobe Premiere, PhotoShop, After Effects, and Garage Band.
Students worked closely with their senior mentors and gained experience in news production, filmed out in the field for school events, and began to assemble portfolios of their work.
In reflectively on the progress of the students, we would like to communicate that we are sincerely pleased with the initiative that these students have shown. For all that they have accomplished during their freshman year, we can only imagine the skills they will continue to hone during their time in the Communications Academy. Engaged learning is amazing to observe and we look forward to watching the students continue to excel.
